Footprint Apparel didn't start as a clothing brand. In early 2023, it was a small sneaker boutique in Birmingham, Alabama—born from a passion for kicks and the culture around them. We curated heat, connected with local sneakerheads, and built a community.
But the game changed overnight. When Schmidty Kicks filed for bankruptcy, owing sneaker customers over $18 million, trust in the industry collapsed. Our boutique was caught in the fallout and forced to close. It was a devastating blow.
LEGACY
IN A NAME
In the ashes of the boutique, our founder looked for meaning. The name "Footprint" came while reflecting on Kobe Bryant's passing. Kobe left a legacy so profound that his last name alone still moves people. That's what we wanted to build—a brand that leaves a footprint, not just sneakers on a shelf.
We pivoted from reselling sneakers to creating apparel that carries the same energy: relentless, authentic, built to last. The first samples were printed in that same tiny Birmingham apartment—only this time, we weren't just selling other people's inventory. We were making our own legacy.
FIRST DROP
& ATLANTA MOVE
Our debut apparel collection dropped organically—no ads, no influencers. Just pure community energy. It sold out in 48 hours. The same streets that taught us about sneakers now embraced our clothing. By 2025, we had outgrown Birmingham and moved our headquarters to Atlanta, the cultural heartbeat of the South.
Atlanta amplified the vision, connecting us to artists, athletes, and dreamers. The move wasn't just geographic; it was symbolic. From a closed sneaker boutique to a thriving streetwear label—Footprint Apparel was reborn.

The Spring-Summer 2026 Collection is a full-circle moment. It carries the resilience of our sneaker roots, the legacy of Kobe's Mamba Mentality, and the cultural muscle of Atlanta. Every piece is designed to leave a footprint.
